In preparation for this year\u2019s Cykelvasan, work has been carried out to create more evenly matched tracks in the starting climb in S\u00e4len. Additionally, the bridge at the road crossing has been widened. All of this is intended to make overtaking easier, giving more elite riders a chance to stay with the lead group if a breakaway occurs early in the race.<\/p>\n\n
At the Risberg checkpoint, participants in Cykelvasan \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r and Cykelvasan 90 will now follow the same route as the runners and skiers. Previously, cyclists would loop around the checkpoint in Risberg and then head back toward S\u00e4len for a few hundred meters. Now, they will instead go straight through the Risberg checkpoint and continue toward Stugubergsv\u00e4gen and onward to Evertsberg. This change also affects the total distance of the race, which is now 95 kilometers instead of last year\u2019s 96.<\/p>\n\n
At the Mora Ski Stadium, construction of a new roller ski track is currently underway, impacting the course layout for several races. In all cycling races, the route will now follow Hedv\u00e4gen toward the stadium. Instead of steep climbs and descents, participants will enjoy a flat, easy-to-ride gravel road that ends with a downhill section near the 3-kilometer sign.<\/p>\n\n
For runners in the Trailvasan 10, which starts and finishes at the Vasaloppet finish line in Mora, the partially new route near the ski stadium will follow smaller trails instead of the traditional Vasaloppet track. The total race distance, 10 km, remains unchanged.<\/p>\n\n
