The ski style is classic and everyone from the age of 11 is welcome to participate. It is not unusual to see three generations skiing the race together. Bring your grandma, brother, mother or grandpa. The start in Oxberg is followed by 30 kilometres of wonderful skiing down towards Mora. Fortify yourself with blueberry soup at the Vasaloppet checkpoints in H\u00f6kberg and Eldris before you reach the finish line portal and receive your well-deserved medals. Because everyone who completes a race during our Winter Week gets a medal!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Saturday February 21: Tjejvasan, 30 km, start Oxberg<\/strong><br>Tjejvasan is a true classic. The world\u2019s largest ski race exclusively for women started in 1988 and over 200,000 skiers have crossed the finish line in Mora over the years. Elite and recreational athletes ski together in the same race. There are competition classes (senior and junior) and an exercise class. Girls can participate in the exercise class from the year they turn 11. Tjejvasan is a seeding race for Vasaloppet. The Ski Classics cross-country cup has now made Tjejvasan a \u201dChallenger\u201d race within Ski Classics, giving the race even higher status. Jenny Larsson won in 2025. Tjejvasan is broadcast live by SVT and the atmosphere will be great, the track lined with live music and fun activities.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Sunday February 22: \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Sunday, 90 km, start S\u00e4len<\/strong><br>One of the two \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r days is the right choice if you want to ski the world\u2019s biggest cross-country ski race, from S\u00e4len to Mora, only competing against yourself. The race follows the same course and passes the same checkpoints as Vasaloppet. The challenge is the same, as is the nature experience. Only classic style is allowed in \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Sunday, which counts as a seeding race for Vasaloppet. F\u00f6rsvarsmaktsvasan also runs on this day, a race where Swedish defence forces run their own Vasaloppet from S\u00e4len to Mora. Their start time is ten minutes before the first start group in \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Sunday.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Sunday February 22: Ungdomsvasan, 9 km start Eldris, 19 km start H\u00f6kberg<\/strong><br>The race that puts the skiers of the future in forefathers\u2019 tracks! What do the 2025 Vasaloppet winner Alvar Myhlback and today\u2019s Swedish national team skiers Emma Ribom, Oskar Svensson, Truls Gisselman, Edvin Anger, Johanna H\u00f6gstr\u00f6m, Moa Ilar, Gustaf Berglund and M\u00e4rta Rosenberg have in common? Well, they all started their skiing careers in Ungdomsvasan, a race that manifests the breadth of Swedish skiing in the same way as Vasaloppet. All young people, whether they compete for a ski club or not, are welcome to participate. The race has three age classes for boys and girls respectively. The 11\u201312 and 13\u201314-year-olds start in Eldris and ski 9 km while 15\u201316-year-olds start in H\u00f6kberg and ski 19 km.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Monday February 23: \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Monday 90, 90 km, start S\u00e4len<\/strong><br>Since 2022 \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Monday is freestyle, which means that both skate and classic style are allowed, unlike \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Sunday where you can only ski classic style. The Vasaloppet Arena is prepared with both a skate surface and a ski track. The race counts as a seeding race for Vasaloppet\u2019s start groups 2\u20139.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Monday February 23: \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Monday 45, 45 km, start Oxberg<\/strong><br>\u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Monday 45 starts at Oxberg and the track starts with a loop around the beautiful Oxberg lake before rejoining the Vasaloppet Arena and pass the checkpoints Oxberg, H\u00f6kberg, and Eldris. The race allows both skate and classic ski styles; the Vasaloppet Arena is prepared with a skate surface and ski tracks. The race counts as a seeding race for Vasaloppet\u2019s start groups 2\u20139.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Monday February 23: \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Monday 30, 30 km, start Oxberg\u00a0<\/strong><br>The news for \u00d6ppet Sp\u00e5r Monday 30 in 2026 is that this race will also now start at the regular starting place in Oxberg (not at the Oxberg checkpoint as before). Participants can take part from the age of 11. The race is freestyle, allowing both skate and classic styles, and the Vasaloppet Arena is prepared with both a skate surface and ski tracks.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Tuesday February 24: Vasaloppet 45, 45 km, start Oxberg<\/strong><br>Vasaloppet 45 was previously called Halvvasan and, as both names imply, it\u2019s half the length of Vasaloppet. Despite that, the start place is in Oxberg. The track starts with a loop around the beautiful Oxberg lake before rejoining the Vasaloppet Arena. Enjoy the Vasaloppet atmosphere as you pass the checkpoints in Oxberg, H\u00f6kberg and Eldris on your way to Mora. Vasaloppet 45 counts as a seeding race for Vasaloppet and those also registered to ski Vasaloppet on Sunday start in the first group.\u00a02026 marks the 30th anniversary of the race.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Friday February 27: Stafettvasan, 90 km, start S\u00e4len<\/strong><br>The world\u2019s largest ski relay \u2013 with teams from clubs, companies, families and groups of friends sharing the classic route from S\u00e4len to Mora. The sections for the five team members are 24 km, 24 km, 14 km, 9 km and 19 km. Exchanges take place in M\u00e5ngsbodarna, Evertsberg, Oxberg and H\u00f6kberg. Team members are permitted to take on more than one section per person. Meet your teammates at the finish line and celebrate together when you receive your well-deserved medals. Expect a party atmosphere!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Friday February 27: Nattvasan 30, 30 km, start Oxberg<\/strong><br>Just like in Vasaloppet 30, you can ski Nattvasan as early as the year you turn 11. The route is also the same, with one big difference: When the race starts in Oxberg at 19:00, it\u2019s dark outside and all participants have headlamps. An adventure awaits here, a journey lined with torches and fires that lead you to Mora. You can participate as an individual or in teams of two and skate and classic ski style are both allowed.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Friday February 27: Nattvasan 45, 45 km, start Oxberg<\/strong><br>Nattvasan 45 can be described as the night version of Vasaloppet 45. Nattvasan 45 starts at 20:00 in Oxberg; stars and headlamps illuminate the track that goes around the beautiful Oxberg lake before rejoining the Vasaloppet Arena. It will be an adventure, a journey lined with torches and fires, leading to the finish. You can participate as an individual or in teams of two, and skate and classic ski style are both allowed.\u00a0New: As of 2026, Vasaloppet 45 also counts as a seeding race for Vasaloppet.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Friday February 27: Nattvasan 90, 90 km, start S\u00e4len<\/strong><br>Nattvasan 90 premiered in 2017, which means the race will be held for the tenth time in 2026. During the day, 90 kilometres is a challenge. At night it becomes an adventure. The moment you leave the start in Berga by at 20:00, darkness and silence descend around you. Stars and headlamps light the way to the finish line in Mora, which is open until 08:00 the next morning. Nattvasan has been described as a magical race, a 90-kilometre nocturnal journey lined with torches and fires. Participate as an individual or in teams of two; skate and classic ski style are both allowed.\u00a0As of 2026, Vasaloppet 90 counts as a seeding race for Vasaloppet.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Saturday February 28: Vasaloppet 10, 9 km, start Eldris<\/strong><br>Vasaloppet 10 is a race that\u2019s more about trying out skiing than about competing. It gives you the chance to ski in the Vasaloppet track and finish under Vasaloppet\u2019s classic finish line portal. Who doesn\u2019t want to do that? The start is in Eldris, 9 km from the finish in Mora. The minimum age to participate is 8, and there is no maximum. It\u2019s an easy route and the race was formerly called Bl\u00e5b\u00e4rsloppet (\u201dthe Blueberry Race\u201d). At Vasaloppet\u2019s 100th anniversary in 2022, the race was given the subtitle \u201dOn skis through the ages\u201d, and many participants dressed up in vintage clothes and skied using old equipment as a tribute to Vasaloppet\u2019s 100-year history. Vasaloppet hoped that participants would continue this and we can now confirm that it\u2019s already become a fun tradition for many. Both skate and classic style are allowed in the race and dressing up is, of course, optional.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Sunday March 1: Vasaloppet, 90 km, start S\u00e4len<\/strong><br>Vasaloppet is the world\u2019s biggest cross-country ski race. 2026 marks the 102nd Vasaloppet in sequence. Elite and recreational athletes ski together and the journey the start in Berga by in S\u00e4len at 08:00, through the seven classic Vasaloppet checkpoints Sm\u00e5gan, M\u00e5ngsbodarna, Risberg, Evertsberg, Oxberg, H\u00f6kberg and Eldris before the race is decided, often on the final stretch in Mora. A fantastic sporting tradition, a ski festival, a test of strength. Maximum number of participants is 15,800. More than 600,000 skiers have made their way through Vasaloppet since its inception in 1922. And as it says on the skiers\u2019 diplomas: \u201dEvery finish is a great victory\u201d. Millions of television viewers in several countries watch the race. The reigning champions are Alvar Myhlback and Stina Nilsson.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>More races:<\/strong><br><strong>Barnens Vasalopp on skis 2026<\/strong><br>The children\u2019s race Barnens Vasalopp is organized in S\u00e4len and Mora during Vasaloppet\u2019s Winter Week. The recommended age is 3\u201310 years. It is free to participate in the race, and all children receive a medal after finishing. Register on location in S\u00e4len and Mora.<br>Saturday February 21: S\u00e4len, the Vasaloppet start \u2013 90, 300 or 900 metres.<br>Saturday February 28: Mora, starting at the Mora Park campsite. Finish at the Vasaloppet finish \u2013 900 meters.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Hemmavasan on skis 2026<\/strong><br>Hemmavasan on skis complements Vasaloppet\u2019s Winter Week 2026. While the regular races are held on location in S\u00e4len and Mora, from Friday February 20 to Sunday March 1, participants can also ski a race in any location around Sweden \u2013 or the world. You ski in your local ski track and in the digital Vasaloppet Arena at the same time!
