Vasaloppet in English - Bus to start

To protect the environment and avoid queues, we recommend all participants to take the bus to the start.

Bus tickets

Tickets for Vasaloppet’s official bus transports will go on sale at the end of May 2025. During the Summer Week tickets are also sold at the bus entrance in Mora.

There are a limited number of tickets. We recommend you to purchase your ticket early and online.

Booking conditions

The ticket is not personal.
Purchased ticket will not be refunded.
Addition regarding covid-19: If the events are affected by covid-19 restrictions, government decisions, etc. we retain the right to adjust the course, dates and times for participation and/or other conditions for the events if we deem it necessary to comply with applicable covid-19 rules. Vasaloppet has no obligation to repay registration fees or pay damages as compensation. If the event must be cancelled for reasons attributable to covid-19 you have the right to move your bus ticket to next year or to another option as above.

Vasaloppet takes no responsibility for loss or damage to your belongings and property. Regarding equipment with high value we recommend taking out a comprehensive or separate insurance. Read more about insurance on the page Insurance under Registration under each race.

Lines

During the summer, we have three bus linjes. Line 1 runs between Sälen and Mora. Line 2 runs between Mora and Oxberg. Line 3 runs between Sälen and Oxberg.

Line 1 – Sälen–Mora, Mora–Sälen
Line 2 – Mora–Oxberg
Line 3 – Sälen–Oxberg, Oxberg–Sälen

Buses during the bike races

Bicycle and personal transport

Bicycles will be transported on lorries. Bubble wrap for protecting your bike is available in limited quantities. Buses and bicycle transports depart from the same locations.

Departures

Note that there are two types of departures; buses with fixed times and buses departing continuously between fixed times. Buses depart as they fill up.

Mora – Prostgatan in the finish area in Mora
Sälen – The Vasaloppet start in Berga by
Lindvallen – at Experium in Lindvallen

Buses from Mora depart from Prostgatan in the finish area. There are buses from Mora to the Vasaloppet start in Sälen and to the start in Oxberg.

Buses from Sälen to the start in Oxberg depart from Experium in Lindvallen.

Buses from Mora back to Sälen after the race will make a stop at the Vasaloppet start, before continuing to Experium in Lindvallen. When boarding, please tell the bus driver where you want to get off the bus. Buses also return from Mora to the start in Oxberg on the Friday.

Estimated travel time including queue time and loading and unloading of bicycles:

Mora–Oxberg, about 2 hours
Sälen–Oxberg, about 2 hours
Lindvallen–Oxberg, about 2 hours
Mora–Sälen, about 3 hours

Buses from Mora depart from Prostgatan in the finish area. There are buses from Mora to the Vasaloppet start in Sälen and to the start in Oxberg.

Buses from Sälen depart from the Vasaloppet start in Berga by. There are buses from Sälen to Mora on the Friday, and from Sälen to the start in Oxberg on the Saturday.

Buses from Mora back to Sälen after the race will stop at the Vasaloppet start. Buses from Mora also return to to the start in Oxberg.
