    Whole or half Nattvasan, and delayed start in Stafettvasan

    LATEST NEWS ABOUT NATTVASAN: The race will start, as planned, in Sälen at 20:00 tonight. Weather forecast is that it will be minus 20 degrees at the starting area but it will slowly get warmer during the race. All seven official checkpoints will serve warm beverages and there will be buses on site if you need to warm yourself. Make sure to bring extra batteries, keep them close to your body, and make sure you have warm beverages in your rucksack. And stay safe, make sure that you and your partner stay warm during the race. Bring extra and warm clothes.

    Latest updates before Vasaloppet 2018

    Visma Ski Classics Event 8, Vasaloppet is the world´s biggest and one of the most prestigious events and it is now getting very close to the start of this Swedish classic. The upcoming Sunday, the 4th of March at CET 08:00 about 16000 skiers starts their 90 km long journey from Sälen to Mora.

    An exciting spurt on the final stretch in Mora decided the winner of the 30th anniversary Tjejvasan. Czech Katerina Smutná fought her way past Britta Johansson Norgren and took her first Tjejvasan victory.

    Information about registration and alterations Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2018

    It's high time to register for Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2018. Over 61,000 are already registered but there are still plenty of places available for those who want to ski in a race (or several). You can register online at vasaloppet.se up until Tuesday, February 20, at midnight. After that, registering on location is the only option!

Conditions have been excellent this whole winter. Masses of snow and nice, cold weather. Firm, fine ski tracks run through the arena from Sälen to Mora.

    Vasaloppet continues to penalize participants for littering

    Several participants had a penalty of 15 minutes added to their time after littering where not allowed during their participation in a 2017 Vasaloppet race. This rule also applies in 2018 and monitoring has now been strengthened with an increased number of inspectors, using better equipment.

    Vasaloppet presents a new challenge!

    Vasaloppet is now launching Vasaloppstrippeln 45, where the goal is to ski Halvvasan, bike Cykelvasan 45 and walk, run or jog Ultravasan 45. Ever since Vasaloppet introduced the individual running race Ultravasan in 2014 participants have been able to take on the challenge of completing three types of races – skiing, mountain biking and running. It's an achievement that, since 2016, goes under the official name Vasaloppstrippeln. In 2017 there were 121 participants who completed the three 90-kilometre races in forefathers' tracks.

    Registration for Blåbärsloppet 2018 is now open

    Want to try skiing a Vasaloppet Winter Week race but not as far as the other races? Then you should register for Blåbärsloppet, held on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Blåbärsloppet is 9 kilometres long, starting in Eldris and finishing in Mora. Anyone can participate. Registering is completely free and there are free buses to the start. And everyone who finishes gets a medal!

    With six weeks to go before Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2018, there is plenty of snow on the Vasaloppet course, and ski tracks drawn all the way from Sälen to Mora. The tracks are groomed before every weekend for those who want to get out and train.
