    Vasaloppet is launching a new race: Nattvasan 45

    Nattvasan 90 ran for the first time in 2017. Many have described the race as a magical experience, but also as one of the toughest challenges you can face in the Vasaloppet Arena. Participants, skiing in pairs, have to face the alien experience of late night skiing as well as the compact winter darkness surrounding them in the tracks.

    Vasaloppet introduces new start procedure for Öppet Spår

    In Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2019 the 39th Öppet Spår will introduce a new starting procedure; group starts every ten minutes based on a self-seeding system where participants estimate their finishing time when registering and get placed in start groups accordingly. This will give the race a better flow and reduce queueing before the start.

    Fritjof Fagerlund and Alexandra Morozova won Ultravasan 90 2018

    A record number of participants came to the start of the fifth Ultravasan, which ran under ideal conditions: 1,042 runners took off from Sälen at 05:00 to run 90 km while 802 runners started in Oxberg at 07:00 to run 45 km. Fritjof Fagerlund, LK Roslagen, and Alexandra Morozova, Russia, are the winners of Ultravasan 90 2018. David Nilsson, Högby IF, and Lisa Ring, IK Nocout, won Ultravasan 45.

    Get ready for Ultravasan, Vasastafetten and Vasakvartetten 2018

    Saturday, August 18 is Vasaloppet's annual running day where world elite and thousands of recreational athletes run together in the Vasaloppet Arena. Here we've collected some facts, statistics and trivia to prepare you for the 5th Ultravasan, 28th Vasastafetten and 2nd Vasakvartetten. Runners from a total of 29 countries are registered for Ultravasan, which broke its registration record this year. 241 participants also have a shot at completing Vasaloppstrippeln 90 2018.

    Olsson and Hovdenak won Cykelvasan 90, 2018

    Michael Olsson, Team Serneke Allebike, and Hildegunn Gjertrud Hovdenak, Nesset CK, won the tenth Cykelvasan this Saturday. Both winning cyclists settled the outcome on the final stretch with very strong spurt finishes. "It's huge to win this and so wonderful for the team. We bike so well together," said Michael Olsson.

    Cykelvasan 2018 – the biggest Nordic mountain bike race celebrates its tenth anniversary

    Vasaloppet's Summer Week and Cykelvasan take place in 2018 for the tenth year in a row. Since the start in 2009 a total of over 111,100 participants have biked across the finish line in Cykelvasan's first nine years. So far over 24,000 cyclists are registered for 2018.
