    Kranskulla and Kransmas appointed for Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan 2017

    Now it's decided! The Kranskulla for 2017 is Lydia Sundin, active in IFK Mora athletics club, and the Kransmas is Linus Rapp, active in IFK Mora's orienteering club. "I'm incredibly stoked," says Lydia Sundin and Linus Rapp agrees: "It feels incredible. I've dreamed of this for many years."

    Artist Kerstin Bergman created the Vasaloppet themes for 2017

    The press conference this Thursday at Café Zorn in Mora saw the unveiling of the winning artworks that will be the official Vasaloppet theme motifs of 2017. The jury selected Kerstin Bergman's ”Äntligen i mål” (Finally the finish) and ”Att vilja och våga” (To want and dare).

    The online registration for our summer races opens on Sunday September 18 2016 at 09.00 a.m. on vasaloppet.se. All registrations will be administrated on a temporary registration page on vasaloppet.se which will be online on Sunday morning September 18.

    Vasaloppet starts a new race in 2017

    It is official: When registration opens for Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2017, on Sunday September 18, 2016, there will be a new race — Vasakvartetten. As the name implies it will be a running relay race for four people from Sälen to Mora, with four sections between 19.1 and 24.2 km in length. Much like four half marathons, in other words. There will also be some small changes in Vasastafetten.

    Jarle Risa and Jasmin Nunige won Ultravasan 2016

    It was a Norwegian and Swiss victory in Ultravasan 90. Norwegian Jarle Risa crossed the finish line five minutes ahead of Fritjof Fagerlund, Rånäs 4H. Third place went to American Patrik Reagan. In the women's class, Jasmin Nunige defended her crown from last year, winning with a large margin and a new record time of 6.54.32.

    Ultravasan and Vasastafetten 2016

    Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2016 has come halfway. The cyclists have finished and this weekend the Vasaloppet Arena will welcome about 7,000 runners from about 20 different nations. World elite and recreational athletes meet in Ultravasan, over 500 teams are registered for Vasastafetten, one team is trying for Vasakvartetten, and 32 people have a chance of completing Vasaloppstrippeln. Here we have compiled a lot of facts, statistics and trivia for the third ever Ultravasan and the 26th Vasastafetten.
