    Information about registration and start certificates

    It is now high time to register for Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2017. Over 63,000 are already registered but there are still plenty of places left for those who want to ski in a race (or several). You can register online at vasaloppet.se up until Tuesday, February 21, at midnight. We then open for direct registration (with slightly higher participation fee) and changes made on location at our competition offices on Wednesday, February 22, in Mora at 16:00 and in Sälen on Thursday, February 23, at 10:00. Start certificates will be emailed on Thursday, February 16, to those of you who are already registered.

    Öppet Spår Sunday 2017 now fully booked

    This morning, the final start place was booked in Öppet Spår Sunday, making for a total of 10,000 registered participants. This is the fifth year in a row that the race is fully booked, and the third race of the Winter Week 2017 to fill up. Both Vasaloppet and Nattvasan have already been fully booked.

    Honour the memory of Mora-Nisse – ski in a red cap

    This year marks 100 years since Nils ”Mora-Nisse” Karlsson (1917-2012) was born. And of course we are celebrating. We now ask all participants starting in the 93rd Vasaloppet on Sunday, March 5, to do so wearing a red cap. The goal is to make a gigantic tribute to an athletic star and Vasaloppet's greatest icon through the ages.

    Time penalty for littering in the Vasaloppet Arena

    Vasaloppet is now taking serious measures to end the littering that occurs along the track during the race. If a participant is found to be throwing litter, he or she will be given a time penalty of 15 minutes.

    Over 60,000 registered for Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2017

    Clearer regulation and continued mass start

    Women and men will continue to start together in Vasaloppet 2017. "This decision has been made in agreement with several of the elite ladies. At the same time we will clarify the rule against participants hindering one another," says Tommy Höglund, Sport Manager for Vasaloppet.

    Happy New Year

    In connection with Christmas and New Year, Vasaloppet’s staff will take some time off in order to recharge before Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2017. The Vasaloppet Office will be closed and reopen again January 9. The Office open at 08.00 am and Our phone lines at 10:00 am. NOTE! Emails sent during this period will not be stored.

    Kranskulla and Kransmas appointed for Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan 2017

    Now it's decided! The Kranskulla for 2017 is Lydia Sundin, active in IFK Mora athletics club, and the Kransmas is Linus Rapp, active in IFK Mora's orienteering club. "I'm incredibly stoked," says Lydia Sundin and Linus Rapp agrees: "It feels incredible. I've dreamed of this for many years."
