    Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2015 sets new record – but there are still places left!

    Just like last year, Vasaloppet's Summer Week, August 14–22, attracts a record number of registered participants. Right now there are already more than 25,500 registered for the various races, which is an increase of ten percent compared to the same time in 2014. Part of the Summer Week are the three Cykelvasan distances, as well as the running races Ultravasan and Vasastafetten. It is still possible to register for these races. Only Cykelvasan 90 is fully booked.

    New stretch for Cykelvasan

    Vasaloppet, with Arena Manager Anders "Hobbe" Holmberg at the forefront, is working hard to improve the Cykelvasan track. This summer there will be a big change in the area around Oxberg.

    Super Strong Elite Group in UltraVasan 2015

    UltraVasan on August 22, 2015 will have an elite group at least as strong as in the very successful premiere last year. Many world-class runners, including world champion Max King, have already signed up to come to Dalarna this summer! It remains to be seen if local favourite and defending champion Jonas Buud will be able to return to last year’s level, after the stress fracture that prevented him from running for almost four months this winter.

    Vasaloppet and StafettVasan 2016 fully booked

    Today Sunday at 09:00 Vasaloppet opened registration for the ski races in Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2016. Vasaloppet was fully booked in 83 seconds. StafettVasan was fully booked in two minutes and 24 seconds and after one hour more than 32,400 participants had registered for the eight ski races.

    Petter Eliassen and Justyna Kowalchyk won Vasaloppet 2015

    Two debutants won Vasaloppet 2015: Petter Eliassen, Norway, who won the men's class ahead of seasoned participants Anders Aukland, Norway, and Stanislav Rezác, Czech Republic. Justyna Kowalczyk, Poland, won the ladies class ahead of Britta Johansson Norgren, Sweden, and Seraina Boner, Switzerland.

    Facts, statistics and trivia for the 91st Vasaloppet

    On Sunday March 8, 2015, at 08:00 CET, is the start in Sälen of the 91st Vasaloppet since the beginning in 1922. We have, as in previous years, gathered a wealth of facts and trivia for Sunday's Vasaloppet. For example: How many have registered, where do they come from, which former winners are participating, who are the favourites, which celebrities are participating, why do the number bibs have different colours, who has won the most times, and how much blueberry soup cooked?

    Vasalopps-TV, now with English subtitles

    Vasalopps-TV is Vasaloppet's own show. 15 minutes, produced in Mora every day during Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2015 and uploaded to YouTube. An English version of each episode (with English subtitles) is published the following day, containing a daily summary as well as interviews, weather forecasts, waxing tips, traffic information and other interesting reports, etc.

    Laila Kveli won TjejVasan 2015

    Laila Kveli, Norway, won TjejVasan 2015 ahead of Emilia Lindstedt, Sundbybergs IK, and Lina Korsgren, Falun Borlänge SK. The record time from 2008 still stands but Laila's winning time of 1.19.11 is the second fastest in TjejVasan history.
