The board members of Vasaloppsföreningen Sälen-Mora and Vasaloppets Marknads AB have appointed Eva-Lena Frick, 54 and currently CEO of Vätternrundan, as the new CEO of Vasaloppet.

Registration for summer races 2016 opens on September 20 at 09:00 on Vasaloppet's website. Due to the great interest in Cykelvasan 90, a loyalty program is now introduced to safeguard returning participants. These participants now have their own quota of start positions and are guaranteed a place in next year's race.
Vasaloppet has signed a new contract with Volvo Car Sweden who, from September 1 and on, are a new main sponsor and official vehicle supplier for Vasaloppet. The partnership covers all Vasaloppet activities year round, including both winter and summer events.
Sven von Holst will be Acting CEO of Vasaloppet until the recruitment of Anders Selling's successor is completed.
Swedish ultrarunning star Jonas Buud from IFK Mora today won his second Ultravasan 90 victory, running Sälen to Mora with a record time of 5.45.08. The ladies' class was won by Jasmin Nunige from Switzerland with a time of 7.02.35, also a new track record.

Alexander Wetterhall, Team Tre Berg Bianchi, and Jennie Stenerhag, Falu CK, won the mountain bike race Cykelvasan 2015. The gents' winner won by a large margin while the ladies' class was determined through a dramatic sprint.
321 gents and 154 ladies have so far registered to run Ultravasan 45 on Saturday, August 22. Several of them will also be participating in the 100 km World Championships held in Winschoten, the Netherlands, on September 12, and have therefore chosen to run Ultravasan 45 to prepare for the World Championships.
The first Vasaloppet was in 1922, and Cykelvasan ran for the first time in 2009. In the past six years, Cykelvasan has grown enormously and is now approaching 20,000 registered participants. Here we have collected facts, statistics, information, history and trivia to prepare you for the seventh Cykelvasan, which is now the largest Nordic mountain bike race.
Just like last year, Vasaloppet's Summer Week, August 14–22, attracts a record number of registered participants. Right now there are already more than 25,500 registered for the various races, which is an increase of ten percent compared to the same time in 2014. Part of the Summer Week are the three Cykelvasan distances, as well as the running races Ultravasan and Vasastafetten. It is still possible to register for these races. Only Cykelvasan 90 is fully booked.
