    Over 400,000 SEK in prize money for the top runners in Ultravasan, Trailvasan, and Vasastafetten 2023

    Saturday, August 19 is the big running day during Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2023. It's a day that attracts both eager elite runners and happy recreational runners to the Vasaloppet Arena between Sälen and Mora. This year, the prize pool for the top runners in Ultravasan 90, Ultravasan 45, Trailvasan 30, and Vasastafetten comes to a total of 401,000 SEK. Of course, all participants who complete a race will receive a medal, and those who complete a race that's 30 km or longer will also receive a specially designed finisher T-shirt. Anyone who wants to run a shorter distance is welcome to participate in the recreational race Trailvasan 10, which takes place that Friday evening.

    Women get their own start groups in Cykelvasan 90 and Cykelvasan Öppet Spår 2023

    Starting from Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2023, women participating in the recreational exercise classes of Cykelvasan 90 and Cykelvasan Öppet Spår can, if they wish, start in a group consisting only of women. This initiative is part of the project "More women on the track," which aims to improve the gender balance in Vasaloppet's races.

    Start places for Vasaloppet 2024 on Sunday, March 3, are sold out, and 15,800 participants have started preparing for this 100th race. 23 percent of those registered are women, which is the highest number ever.

    Fantastic performances from 2023 and the 100th Vasaloppet fully booked

    Seventeen days after registration opened for the 100th Vasaloppet 2024, the race was fully booked with 15,800 participants. In total, nearly 30,000 have already registered for one of the races in Vasaloppet's Winter Week 2024 but there are plenty of start places left in the other races besides Vasaloppet. And with over 52,000 registered participants in the recently concluded Winter Week 2023, we can't help but single out some particular achievements:

    Welcome to Cykelvasan, August 11–12, 2023

    Vasaloppet started the Cykelvasan mountain bike race in 2009 and it quickly grew into the largest in the Nordics. Now it's your turn to participate in the Vasaloppet of Swedish cycling. This summer we're offering five different races to choose from, here in the beautiful Vasaloppet Arena in Dalarna. Choose the distance that suits you best: 32, 45 or 94 km.     Emil Persson and Emilie Fleten won Vasaloppet 2023

    After ten Norwegian male victories in Vasaloppet, the 99th race finally saw a Swedish win again with Emil Persson crossing the finish line just ahead of Norwegian Andreas Nygaard and Kasper Stadaas. The women's class had a Norwegian winner with Emilie Fleten taking her very first Ski Classics victory. Second place was Silje Öyre Slind and third was Ida Dahl. Start places for the 100th Vasaloppet in 2024 were released at vasaloppet.se when the first skier passed Mångsbodarna.

    On Sunday, March 5 at 08:00 in Sälen it's time for the start of the 99th Vasaloppet. Vasaloppet 2023 is fully booked, which means 15,800 registered participants. New for this year, start places for the historic 100th Vasaloppet 2024 will become available at vasaloppet.se on Sunday when the first Vasaloppet skier passes the Mångsbodarna checkpoint.     Ida Dahl won Tjejvasan 2023

    It was a home win in Tjejvasan 2023, the new Ski Classics Challengers event. Ida Dahl from IFK Mora SK/Team Engcon won a photo finish ahead of Norwegian Magni Smedås, skiing for Team Eksjöhus. Emilie Fleten, of Norway/Team Ramudden, came third in her very first Tjejvasan. Evelina Crusell, Team Eksjöhus, won the junior class.
