Bus trips, cafés and new signage – the Vasaloppet Arena is ready for summer
New and improved signage for our hiking and biking trails, cafés where you can get coffee and eat along the way and buses going Mora–Sälen and back, allowing you to bring your bike. The Vasaloppet Arena is ready to receive this summer's visitors. And for those of you who are eager to complete Hemmavasan on location in the Vasaloppet Arena, there's every opportunity for flexible solutions. Welcome!
New and bigger signs are now set up at strategic points to mark the sections that are open for cycling, hiking and running in the Vasaloppet Arena during the summer. All to make it easier to find your way in Sweden’s longest nature reserve.
The Vasaloppet trail largely follows the Vasaloppet course from Sälen to Mora and is open for cycling, hiking and running all summer. Along the trail there are, at intervals, a total of nine overnight cabins. It’s also possible to bring your own tent and spend the night in it.
Because the Vasaloppet Summer Week 2021 cannot be held in the physical Vasaloppet Arena due to the covid-19 pandemic, Hemmavasan is arranged instead, allowing you to run or cycle wherever you are. For those who are eager to complete their Hemmavasan on location in the arena, finishing as usual under the classic portal, there are some handy and flexible solutions:
Hedmans Buss runs bus trips Mora–Sälen Thursdays to Sundays between July 3 and August 21; the entire Hemmavasan period. There’s a bus in the morning and one in the afternoon and you can bring your bike on the bus.
See timetable and book your ticket at Hedmans Buss.
Several cosy cafés are open for the summer in the Vasaloppet Arena, offering both coffee and light meals along the way. At Café Mångsbodarna, Bjärres bygdegård in Evertsberg and Hökbergs Fäbodcafé you can top up on energy and also find simple facilities if you need to fix a puncture on your bike, for example. See opening hours on their respective Facebook pages.
As usual, everyone who visits the Vasaloppet Arena should take responsibility for their actions and remember that they are in a nature reserve.
Here are some tips along the way:
- Plan your stay in the Vasaloppet Arena and show consideration to others
• Follow the markings and signage closely
• Use the toilets at the checkpoints or overnight cabins
• Bring all rubbish home with you
• Take care of nature!
