Covid-19 and upcoming Vasaloppet events
The present is difficult and the future is uncertain. We know that many are struggling; health care workers, the elderly, schools, big companies, small companies, organizers of sporting events and the overall world population. We're currently aiming to carry out Vasaloppet's Summer Week 2020 as planned; at the same time we are closely monitoring updates and recommendations from our Swedish authorities.
Right now it’s too early to tell if we’ll need to cancel or make any changes to our events. We’re planning, and hoping, to hold Vasaloppet’s Summer Week August 14–22, 2020. If anything changes we will, of course, share this information as quickly as possible, both at vasaloppet.se, our social media channels and emails to registered participants.
Like so many others out there we need to be patient and we’re asking our dedicated participants, both those currently registered and not, to do the same.
We want to, just as the Public Health Agency of Sweden has done in collaboration with Swedish Sports Confederation, encourage everyone to train safely, preferably out in nature. Take walks, do strength exercises, hike with poles, jog, cycle, play with the kids. Take care of yourselves and each other out there!
