Fine prizes awarded as Vasastafetten turns 30 years
Vasastafetten will be held for the 30th time on Saturday, August 20. So far, nearly 200 teams have registered to run the 90 km race from Sälen to Mora. To celebrate, and to give participants a bit of extra pep, Vasaloppet is raffling off nice prizes to the teams this year. First prize consists of start places for Vasaloppstrippeln 30 in 2023 for all team members, and another five teams will win start places in any 30 km 2023 race for all team members; skiing, running or cycling.
Vasastafetten is always a festival for the people when hundreds of teams with ten runners in each – from clubs, companies and groups of friends – share the classic stretch from Sälen to Mora. After a two-year break due to the pandemic, it’s finally time to welcome all runners back to the arena again as Vasaloppet’s 100th anniversary year continues with the 30th anniversary of Vasastafetten.
”We’re getting a double celebration this summer which is extra fun. And of course we’re celebrating in a Vasaloppet manner, raffling prizes to encourage continued exercise and joyful movement,” says Camilla Sandy Swarén, press manager at Vasaloppet.
As usual, winning teams will be crowned in the men’s and women’s classes but you don’t need to be fastest to be a winner this year. A total of six prizes will be raffled between all teams that complete the race. One team will win start places for Vasaloppstrippeln for all ten team members, valued at 18,200 SEK. Additionally, five teams will win start places in any 2023 30 km race, valued at about 7,000 SEK per team. The winners will receive the prize directly at the finish line in Mora in the new finish area, where there will also be after-run with live music and fun activities in Tingshusparken.
For those who feel the urge to form a team and sign up, there are still plenty of places left. Welcome!
