The Vasaloppet Winter 2021 with Vasaloppet.TV – watch pals, profiles and the elite

In a time when we need to keep our physical distance, Vasaloppet is investing in spreading ski experiences from the Vasaloppet Arena with free TV broadcasts via the dedicated streaming service Vasaloppet.TV. Here viewers can follow both the elite competitions – Tjejvasan and Vasaloppet – and the many skiers taking on Vasaåket 2021 in the Vasaloppet Arena.

As usual SVT, Sveriges Television, is broadcasting Tjejvasan live on Saturday, February 27 and Vasaloppet on Sunday, March 7. These two broadcasts can also be seen at Vasaloppet.TV but only in Sweden. Vasaloppet will be broadcast live across the world by Visma Ski Classics Play.

Vasaåket 10, 30, 45 and 90 km – which can be skied at a time of your choosing between February 12 and March 7 – have aroused great curiosity and will be broadcast worldwide at Vasaloppet.TV.

On Sunday, February 14, Valentine’s Day, the Vasaloppet Arena is prepared to have journalist, podcaster and author Ann Söderlund tackle Vasaåket 30 together with comedian Nisse Hallberg.

On Saturday, February 20, comedian brothers and YouTube stars Daniel and Emil Norberg will take on Vasaåket 10.

Those taking on the whole challenge include artist Petter Alexis Askergren and former alpine national team skier Hans Olsson. Together this star duo will ski Vasaåket 90 from Sälen to Mora on Sunday, February 28. Another journey that will be broadcast live, from start to finish, on Vasaloppet.TV. Neither Petter nor Hans are cross-country beginners, both having completed Nattvasan previously and Hans Olsson having skied Vasaloppet in just over 5 hours.

As tradition holds Vasaloppet is arranging ceremonial festivities and an opening ceremony. This year both events are held without an in-person audience, instead being broadcast digitally at Vasaloppet.TV. The opening ceremony where Kransmas Gustaf Berglund is crowned will be held on Friday, February 26, in Älvdalen’s church. There will also be music with Stefan Nykvist and an opening speech. The traditional festivities will be held in Mora church on Friday, March 5 and they include a ceremonial speech from Stephan Wilson, crowning of this year’s Kranskulla Emelie Brudin and music by Gustaf Norén.

For those having trouble catching all the exciting broadcasts at Vasaloppet.TV – maybe you’re out skiing yourself and enjoying the winter in Vasaåket’s home edition Vasaåket Hemma – all broadcasts remain for viewing after the fact at Vasaloppet.TV.
