Welcome to Cykelvasan 2024 and the first Vasaloppet Bike Festival
Cykelvasan is Vasaloppet on wheels. On Friday and Saturday, August 9–10, participants can choose between five different cycling races in the Vasaloppet Arena, at distances of 32, 45, or 96 kilometres. Additionally, it's the premiere of the Vasaloppet Bike Festival, which lasts the whole week in Lindvallen, Sälen, with over 30 fun activities for the whole family.
In 2009, Vasaloppet launched the mountain bike race Cykelvasan in the Vasaloppet Arena in Dalarna, and it quickly grew into the largest in the Nordics. This summer, all cycling enthusiasts are offered five different races to choose from on Friday and Saturday, August 9–10. And the programme for the Vasaloppet Bike Festival kicks off as early as Monday, August 5 in Lindvallen, Sälen.
”Besides participating in Cykelvasan, you can visit Lindvallen and test your biking skills on fun and challenging tracks, check out spectacular shows with somersaults and world-class bike tricks, learn how to maintain your bike and keep it fresh, and join social rides with different prolific cyclists,” says Magnus Locken, Event Manager at Vasaloppet.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced cyclist, there’s something for everyone at the Vasaloppet Bike Festival. You can meet suppliers, try out new cycling products, and watch the Nordic mountain biking elite compete for glory and prize money in Cykelvasasprinten on Thursday, August 8. Of course, there will also be after-bike events with performances and, not least, the Bike Party on Saturday, August 10.
”There will also be interviews with exciting cycling personalities and discussions with the elite ahead of Cykelvasan 90. For an active family, this would be a truly wonderful holiday week, culminating in crossing the classic finish line in Mora in one of the Cykelvasan races. Welcome,” says Magnus Locken.
