Welcome to Nattvasan 45

Your race begins at 20:00 in Oxberg. You collect your number bib beforehand in Mora or on location in Oxberg before the start. Pack the food and equipment you think you’ll need in your backpack. At the start area, you hand in your bag with a change of clothes at a lorry – which will safely transport your bag to Mora.

The race starts jointly for all participants at 20:00. The start opens at 19:15, and you must be there no later than 19:45. Over the 45 kilometres, you pass the checkpoints in Oxberg, Hökberg and Eldris, where you can refill with water and sports drink in your own container. Toilets are available at all checkpoints, and medical staff are present at the start and finish.

As the race is freestyle, the track is prepared with both a groomed skating lane and two classic tracks. There is one cut-off time – the last permitted passage in Hökberg – but you’ll have plenty of time to reach the finish. The basic rule on the track is: Keep to the right, overtake on the left!

When you begin to glimpse the illuminated church tower in Mora, you’ll know the home stretch is approaching and you’re about to experience the magical feeling of crossing the finish line under the historic portal. After finishing, you’ll receive your well-earned medal and be offered drinks and refreshments. You can leave your skis in the ski deposit and take the free bus to the showers at Prästholmens IP, where your bag will be waiting. Afterwards, you can return to the finish area to collect your diploma and skis and enjoy the atmosphere. Every finish is a victory. See you on the track!

For your security there are restrictions at some checkpoints; time limits after which you cannot pass. The checkpoint must be left 10 minutes after the time limit for arrival has expired.

If you arrive too late at a checkpoint you must abort the race. Bus transport to the finish in Mora will then be arranged.
If you reach the checkpoints within the time limits, you will be able to complete the race.

In extreme weather conditions the race directors have the right to change the time limits.

Sometimes things don’t go as planned. It’s completely okay not to finish.

Contact medical staff or an official at the nearest checkpoint. They will help you with taking care of your timing chip, reporting your withdrawal and arranging transport to the finish in Mora.

Safety first:
Medical staff is available at the start and at the finish. The rest of the course is staffed by mobile medical teams. Functionaries from rescue and medical services have the right to remove participants from the track if there is reason to do so.

If a participant in a team chooses to drop off their race, the other participant can complete the race. The team won’t get a finishing time.

You can go individually or in couples. If you have registered as a pair and one participant decides to withdraw, the other may still complete the race. The participant who aborts their race must return their timing chip to a functionary at the bus at the nearest checkpoint. Both participants must complete the race for you to receive a finish time as a team.

All participants will be listed in the results, and there will be a separate results list for those skiing in teams, where the recorded time will be that of the second participant crossing the finish line.

All participants are required to be equipped with:

  • headlamp
  • liquid container that you can fill up at the checkpoints (as we do not provide disposable cups)

Other equipment we recommend bringing in your backpack or similar:

  • one litre of fluid in a cold-resistant container
  • first aid equipment
  • energy bar or similar
  • extra battery for the headlamp
  • cellphone

The race is a freestyle race, which means you can choose between classic skiing and skate.
It is allowed to take off their skis only downhill.
Swedish Ski Association rules for leisure races apply.
